Applied Animation: Competition Brief - Ideas

Applied Animation - Competition Brief
Finding a Brief and Initial Ideas

  • This week:
    • In my group, decided on a brief and started to form ideas based on the brief
  • What went well:
    • I produced a mind-map exploring the brief overview, for Audible, from the D&AD Competition Website and was able to come up with some ideas which started our  thought process
    • I produced a Gantt Sheet to provide an overview of what we need to do for the next two months to meet the brief.
    • Using silhouettes, I started to produce a variety of character ideas, with solid, recognisable shapes, for the brief and began storyboarding initial narrative ideas.
  • Would could be better:
    • Producing some environments to understand how the characters would work against simple background.
    • I need to finalise the character designs to improve their appeal and so they fit in with the overall concept ideas.
    • Next week I'll be making a digital version of the rough storyboards, producing some rough environment concepts and talking with Laura about final character designs!
